Raptor protection:

In the project area Grimmen - North, a total of up to 2 adult birds and 8 young birds of the red kite are to be tagged at the project-relevant nest sites. In 2021, this was already successful for one adult and 2 young birds. Fortunately, all three red kites are still alive so far (as of July 30, 2021). The detailed evaluation methods of the telemetry data are determined in the context of the project in consultation with the client.

Characteristics / innovative soluation / content:

The data of the red kites tagged in Grimmen are made available to the LIFE EUROKITE project for evaluations. The LIFE EUROKITE project focuses on man-made causes of mortality in the red kite, such as illegal poisoning and illegal shooting.
