In this LIFE+ project, the protection of the Great Bustard from collisions with power lines is a main focus. However, the influence of renewable energy is also the content of detailed study and evaluation.
Characteristics / innovative Solution / Content:
The partners and co-financiers in this project range from government entities, the municipalities and power line companies to national parks. The measures implemented to mitigate overhead power line collisions include ground cabling and marking of power lines.
This project was co-financed by the LIFE Programme of the European Union.
This project was featured multiple times on the Facebook Page oft he LIFE Unit. The European Commision has presented this project as a demonstration project during „Green Week“ in Bussels in 2019.
