Join the Campaign against criminal Poisoning of European Wildlife

We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of our Campaign against criminal Poisoning of European Wildlife (CPEW) on social media in the coming weeks! This initiative aims to raise awareness and call for action to end illegal poisoning of wildlife across Europe.

How can you join:

Illegal poisoning poses a grave threat to rare and protected species of birds and mammals, as well as public safety.

Tragically, it is the main human-caused mortality for red kites, as revealed by the LIFE EUROKITE project. This devastating practice has widespread impacts on conservation efforts for numerous vulnerable species across Europe.

Through our petition, we ask the European Union to take decisive action, including:

  • Raising Awareness: Support for a “European Day Against Criminal Poisoning of Wildlife” on 1st March to engage the public and decision-makers.
  • Data Collection: A systematic, Europe-wide database to identify hotspots of poisoning and tackle the issue at its root.
  • Strategic Action: Stronger implementation of the Rome Strategic Plan 2020–2030 and robust anti-poisoning measures for raptors and other species.
