Mag. med. vet. Verena Strauß

Mag. med. vet. Verena Strauß completed her studies in veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna with a specialisation in conservation medicine. Since 2016, she has been working as a pathologist at the Research Institute of Wildlife Ecology. Her professional focus is on forensic pathology, particularly in the context of the EU LIFE project wildLIFEcrime, in which she conducts forensic investigations to solve wildlife crimes. In addition to her many years of experience in the pathology of zoo and wild animals, she has a particular passion for tumour diagnostics. In 2020, she qualified as an animal welfare officer by completing a course in laboratory animal science (FELASA A and D).
